The National Women’s Shelter Network envisions a world of racial, social and gender equity, free of violence against women and children, where every woman and child will have a safe home and in times of transition, a trauma informed safe haven with deep protective factors, to assure they can heal, grow, thrive and blossom into who they are meant to be.
NWSN aims to join forces as a network and elevate the voices of women with lived homeless experiences nationwide. We conduct and share research and information. We offer training and capacity building. We showcase best practices and innovation for shelters. We identify gaps and needs, we develop informed public and social policies, we raise public awareness. We create solutions and we end and prevent homelessness.
